Dragons, Stags, and a Monk

My friend told me a story about an orthodox saint that would feed a group of deers that came to his monastary every morning.  One morning he notices a stag missing so he set out to find him.  He finds a dragon eating the animal.  The monk rebuked the dragon and ordered it to leave the land.  The dragon complied, but while he was still visible in the distance a lightning bolt came out of the sky and killed him.  The monk became angry with god for killing the dragon, because it still was a beloved creature.  God reminds the monk that he knows the future and what evils the dragon would commit if he continued to live.

Its a weird story, but I really liked it and it stuck with me long enough for me to draw these little sketches.
